Those who attended one of the GSSN screenings of Ruth Beckermann's cinematic study of the relationship of Ingeborg Bachmann and Paul Celan, Die Geträumten (The Dreamed Ones), will be interested to hear that Close-Up cinema is presenting the first UK retrospective of films by the celebrated Austrian director, Ruth Beckermann. Curated and introduced by Colm McAuliffe, the retrospective, is supported by the Austrian Cultural Forum London and Sixpackfilm.

Running from 3 September until 24 September 2017, the retrospective includes Arena Besetzt (Arena Squatted), Auf amol a Streik (Suddenly, a Strike), Jenseits des Krieges (East of War), Wien Retour (Return to Vienna), Papierene Brücke (Paper Bridge), Nach Jerusalem (Towards Jerusalem), Ein flüchtige Zug nach dem Orient (A Fleeting Passage to the Orient), Homemad(e), Zorro’s Bar Mitzwa, American Passages, Those Who Go Those Who Stay. It finishes on 24 September with a screening of Die Geträumten.
