The GSSN is launching a free German Film Club for school students in West Yorkshire! In conjunction with the University of Hull and the British Association of Film, Television and Screen Studies (BAFTSS), the German Film Club will screen six films over the course of the next six months aimed at promoting film literacy and support German in local secondary schools.

The film's have been carefully selected to mirror the set films on the A level syllabus, thereby providing students with depth and breadth. Themes include National Socialism (Berlin 36), life in the GDR (This ain't California, West), contemporary Berlin (Victoria), and immigration (Willkommen bei den Hartmanns).

If you are a student, parent/ carer or teacher and would like to find out more, or would like support setting up your own German film club, please contact Dr Elizabeth Ward on e.m.ward(at)
